Dick Leech prides himself on being a hands-on trainer who now has first-class facilities at the Northern Territory’s two major tracks, Darwin’s Fannie Bay racecourse and Pioneer Park in Alice Springs.
The Darwin Cup carnival captures the attention of most Australian owners and racing fans and Leech has had his share of success, winning the ‘majors’ and now he is encouraging new and existing clients to join the stable.
Leech targets the Darwin and Alice Springs carnivals as well as maintaining a good strike rate throughout the Territory racing season which offers owners the chance to win competitive prize money.
To maximise returns to owners, Leech is not afraid to travel and semi-regularly heads to Adelaide ‘with the right horse” while he has also had success in Western Australia.
